Over the years the carrier deck height and ring gear thickness has changed in the Dodge front axles. This tech article is to explain installing a Yukon 2013 and down ring and pinion into a 2014 and newer Dodge front.

The ring and pinion will fit on the carrier but the housing and bearing cap must be modified slightly in order to get the keeper for the spanner back in place as the gear shifts farther than the housing allows. Below are pictures of where the modification needs to take place. There is not an exact measurement on how much to grind the house. But a good rule of thumb is the thickness of the keeper plus 0.125".
